Indications
Eucaliptine Syrup is indicated for the temporary relief of cough and congestion associated with colds and other respiratory conditions. Dextromethorphan acts as a cough suppressant, reducing the urge to cough in the central nervous system, while sulfoguaiacol acts as an expectorant, helping to loosen and expel mucous secretions from the respiratory tract. This medication is useful for improving patient comfort during episodes of dry or irritating cough, facilitating more comfortable breathing.
Composition
Each 5 mL of syrup contains: Dextromethorphan 0.3 g and Sulfoguaiacol 2.5 g, in addition to excipients necessary for the formulation.
Contraindications
Eucaliptine Syrup is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with productive cough or in those with asthma or severe respiratory diseases without medical supervision. Likewise, its use is not recommended in children under 2 years of age without proper medical evaluation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or respiratory disease. Prolonged use of dextromethorphan can lead to dependence. It is recommended not to exceed the indicated dose and to consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
