Indications
Espabion is indicated for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders, specifically those related to irritable bowel syndrome. It is used to relieve symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in intestinal transit. Trimebutine, its active component, works by regulating intestinal motility, which normalizes contractions in the digestive tract, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life for patients experiencing these symptoms. In addition, it has been used in the management of functional disorders of the digestive system, helping to reduce discomfort associated with these conditions.
Composition
Each Espabion tablet contains 200 mg of Trimebutine as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Espabion is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to trimebutine or any of the excipients in the formula. Likewise, it should not be administered in cases of intestinal obstruction or active ulcerative colitis. Its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women should be evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of severe gastrointestinal diseases. It is important to undergo a medical evaluation before starting treatment, especially in patients who have persistent or recently changed symptoms. As with any medication, it is essential to follow the doctor's instructions and not self-medicate.
