Indications
Ergocaf is indicated for the treatment of migraine attacks, as well as for the management of cluster headaches. The combination of ergotamine and caffeine acts as a vasoconstrictor, which helps relieve headaches by reducing the dilation of blood vessels in the brain. It is important to follow the doctor's specific instructions regarding dosage and frequency of use, as excessive use can cause a rebound effect and worsen the clinical picture.
Composition
Each Ergocaf tablet contains: 1 mg Ergotamine and 100 mg Caffeine.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, as well as in those with cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension, severe liver failure, or Raynaud's disease. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Ergocaf in patients with a history of cardiovascular problems, as it may increase blood pressure and cause adverse effects on the cardiovascular system. Concomitant use with other medications that may have vasoconstrictive effects is also recommended to be avoided. It is essential to consult a doctor before starting treatment if pre-existing medical conditions are present.
