Indications

Entresto is indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure in adults. This medication combines sacubitril, a neprilysin inhibitor, and valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker. Its use is indicated in patients with reduced ejection fraction to improve survival, decrease hospitalizations, and improve quality of life. The combination of these two components works by reducing blood pressure and decreasing the heart's workload, resulting in improved symptoms and cardiac function.

Composition

Each Entresto tablet contains 100 mg of sacubitril and 100 mg of valsartan. Additionally, it includes excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other additives that facilitate tablet formulation.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers, as well as in patients with severe liver failure. Its use in combination with other medications containing sacubitril/valsartan is not recommended.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal failure, hypotension, or dehydration. It is important to monitor kidney function and blood potassium levels during treatment. The use of this medication during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated and only considered if the benefits outweigh the potential risks.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
