Indications
Enaladil is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults, as well as for heart failure. The administration of Enalapril, its active ingredient, allows for the reduction of blood pressure, contributing to the decrease in the risk of cardiovascular events. It is also used in patients with left ventricular dysfunction after a myocardial infarction. Its antihypertensive action is achieved through the inhibition of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which results in vasodilation and decreased peripheral vascular resistance.
Composition
Each Enaladil tablet contains 10 mg of Enalapril, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to enalapril or any other ACE inhibitor. Likewise, it should not be administered to patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or unilateral renal artery stenosis, as well as during pregnancy and lactation, due to the risks associated with the fetus and newborn.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, a history of angioedema, or those who are undergoing treatment with diuretics. Renal function and electrolytes should be monitored during treatment with Enaladil, especially in vulnerable populations, such as the elderly or in patients with conditions that alter hemodynamics.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C.
