Indications
Elomet Ointment is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and pruritic dermatological conditions responsive to corticosteroid therapy. Its use is effective in allergic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, and other conditions requiring reduction of inflammation and itching. Mometasone, its active ingredient, acts by reducing inflammation, relieving redness and itching of the skin.
Composition
Each 100 g of Elomet Ointment contains 0.1 g of mometasone (as mometasone furoate) as the active ingredient. Excipients include: petrolatum, lanolin, cetyl alcohol, among other inert components that facilitate the ointment formulation.
Contraindications
Elomet Ointment is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mometasone or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in viral, bacterial, or fungal skin infections, nor in skin lesions exhibiting characteristics of rosacea or acne. Its use on ulcerations and open wounds is also contraindicated.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Elomet Ointment only under medical supervision in the case of prolonged treatments or applications on extensive skin areas. It should not be applied to facial areas, especially around the eyes, unless directed by a doctor. Use in children should be carefully evaluated due to the possibility of systemic adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
