Indications
Eliptic Ofteno is indicated for the treatment of ocular hypertension in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This medication works by reducing intraocular pressure by decreasing aqueous humor production and increasing its drainage. The combination of Dorzolamide, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, and Timolol, a beta-blocker, enhances the ocular hypotensive effect, making it an effective therapeutic option in the management of these conditions. It is important that treatment be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the appropriate dosage and duration of treatment according to the patient's needs.
Composition
Each ml of Eliptic Ofteno contains: Dorzolamide 20 mg and Timolol 5 mg. Excipients: sodium chloride, purified water, hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide (to adjust pH).
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of allergic reactions to beta-blockers. It should not be used in patients with severe bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bradycardia, second or third-degree heart block, and in those with decompensated heart failure.
Precautions
Eliptic Ofteno should be used with caution in patients with respiratory diseases, heart conditions, diabetes, and those who are under treatment with other medications that may affect blood pressure or heart rate. Regular medical monitoring is important during treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Keep the bottle tightly closed, protected from light and out of reach of children.
