Indications
Eliptic Ofteno is indicated for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. This medication works by combining two agents: dorzolamide, which decreases the production of aqueous humor in the eye, and timolol, which increases its drainage. This dual action allows for an effective reduction of intraocular pressure, which is crucial to prevent damage to the optic nerve and vision loss in patients with these conditions. It is important that treatment is carried out under medical supervision and that periodic checks of ocular pressure are performed.
Composition
Each milliliter of Eliptic Ofteno contains 20 mg of dorzolamide and 5 mg of timolol, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation. The components are essential to ensure the effectiveness and stability of the product.
Contraindications
The use of Eliptic Ofteno is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in people with bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bradycardia, heart block, severe heart failure, and in those who are receiving treatment with oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, or liver conditions. Likewise, care should be taken with concomitant use with other medications that affect ocular pressure or cardiac function. It is essential to observe the appearance of adverse effects during treatment and adjust therapy according to the patient's response. Use in children is not recommended, as safety and efficacy have not been established in this population group.
Storage
Store Eliptic Ofteno in its original packaging and at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the product after the expiration date shown on the package.
