Indications
Eligard is indicated for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, as well as for the management of androgen-dependent diseases. This medication acts as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist, resulting in a decrease in testosterone levels. It is used in patients requiring hormonal control to mitigate the effects of prostate cancer and improve quality of life. It can also be used in combination with other oncological treatments to maximize therapeutic efficacy.
Composition
Each prefilled syringe of Eligard contains 7.5 mg of Leuprorelin, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Eligard is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Leuprorelin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in cases of vaginal bleeding of undetermined origin.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or osteoporosis. It is important to monitor patients during treatment, as side effects related to decreased hormone levels may occur. Periodic reviews are suggested to evaluate treatment response and adjust dosage if necessary.
Storage
The product should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
