Indications

Eligard is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with advanced prostate cancer, as well as for the treatment of endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Leuprorelin acts as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog, which inhibits the production of sex hormones, including testosterone and estrogen. Its use can be beneficial in reducing the size of hormone-dependent tumors and in decreasing symptoms related to these conditions. Therapeutic response should be evaluated and treatment adjusted according to the patient's needs.

Composition

Each prefilled syringe contains: Leuprorelin acetate 45 mg, excipients q.s. (solvent and other inactive components).

Contraindications

Eligard is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to leuprorelin or any of its components. It should not be administered during pregnancy or lactation, or in patients with prolactin-producing pituitary tumors.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, or conditions that may be affected by decreased sex hormones. Regular monitoring is recommended during treatment. Additionally, the risk of osteoporosis should be considered in patients receiving prolonged therapy.

Storage

Store in refrigeration between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
