Indications

Eliquis (Apixaban) is indicated for the prevention of venous thromboembolic events in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery. It is also used for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Additionally, it is indicated for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), as well as for the prevention of their recurrence after initial treatment.

Composition

Each Eliquis tablet contains 5 mg of Apixaban as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Eliquis is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Apixaban or to any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with active significant clinical bleeding, as well as in those with severe hepatic impairment or in those who are receiving concomitant treatments with other anticoagulants that may increase the risk of bleeding.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcers, uncontrolled hypertension, and in those who are scheduled for invasive procedures. Renal and hepatic function should be monitored before and during treatment. Additionally, concomitant use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding should be avoided.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
