Indications

Eliquis (Apixaban) is indicated for the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Eliquis administration should be considered in patients at risk of these conditions, as well as in those who have had previous episodes of thrombosis. It is important to follow specific dosing and administration guidelines as per medical recommendations to achieve effective coagulation control.

Composition

Each Eliquis tablet contains 2.5 mg of Apixaban as the active ingredient. Additionally, excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medicine, but have no therapeutic properties, are included.

Contraindications

Eliquis is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Apixaban or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with active bleeding disorders, severe hepatic impairment, and in those receiving other anticoagulants that increase the risk of hemorrhage.

Precautions

It is essential to use caution in patients with a history of bleeding, recent surgical interventions, or those with conditions that may increase the risk of bleeding. Renal function should be evaluated before and during Eliquis treatment, and regular patient monitoring should be performed to detect signs of hemorrhage.

Storage

Store Eliquis at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in its original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
