Indications

Elequine (Levofloxacin) is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections, such as community-acquired pneumonia and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
  • Complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Intra-abdominal infections.

This medication works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, which results in the death of the bacteria responsible for the infection.

Composition

Each Elequine tablet contains:

  • Levofloxacin: 750 mg
  • Excipients: Lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others.

Contraindications

Elequine is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics.
  • Patients with a history of tendinopathy related to fluoroquinolone use.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in the following cases:

  • Renal insufficiency.
  • Central nervous system diseases, such as epilepsy.
  • Patients over 60 years of age, as they may be at greater risk of adverse effects.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
