Indications
Electrolit Pediátrico is an oral rehydration solution indicated for the prevention and treatment of mild to moderate dehydration in children, which can be caused by diarrhea, vomiting, or fever. It is especially useful in situations where liquid and electrolyte intake is insufficient, helping to restore the body's fluid and electrolyte balance.
Its use is recommended as part of the management of diarrheal diseases, as well as in cases of excessive sweating or insufficient fluid intake. The formula has been designed to be appealing to children, presented in a strawberry flavor, which facilitates its administration.
Electrolit Pediátrico can also be used as a supplement during episodes of high fever, where fluid loss is greater, ensuring adequate hydration and recovery.
Composition
Each 100 ml of Electrolit Pediátrico contains: - Sodium: 90 mg - Potassium: 78 mg - Chloride: 70 mg - Glucose: 2.5 g - Purified water, natural strawberry flavoring, and other excipients.
Contraindications
The use of Electrolit Pediátrico is not recommended in children who are hypersensitive to any of its components. Likewise, it should not be used in cases of severe dehydration or when intravenous rehydration is necessary.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in children with kidney or heart disease, as well as in those with conditions that require strict control of electrolyte intake. It is advisable to consult a doctor before starting treatment, especially in children under 2 years of age.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Once opened, it is recommended to use within 24 hours and keep refrigerated.
