Indications
Efudix cream is indicated for the treatment of superficial malignant skin lesions, including actinic keratosis, superficial basal cell carcinomas, and other conditions where local chemotherapy treatment is required. Topical application of fluorouracil is effective in reducing and eliminating abnormal skin cells, helping to prevent the progression of these lesions and improving skin appearance. Its use is recommended under the supervision of a healthcare professional, who will adjust the treatment according to the patient's response and the extent of the condition to be treated.
Composition
Each 100 g of Efudix cream contains: Fluorouracil 0.05% as active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, petrolatum, cetyl alcohol, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluorouracil or to any of the components of the formula. It should not be applied to open wounds, burns, or irritated skin areas. Additionally, its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women should be carefully evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hematological diseases or liver impairment. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided during treatment, as well as the use of other topical products in the same area without a doctor's approval. The use of Efudix must be supervised and monitored by a healthcare professional to evaluate efficacy and the appearance of possible adverse effects.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Keep the product in its original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
