Indications
Efexor XR (Venlafaxine) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, social anxiety disorders, and panic disorders. Venlafaxine acts as a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), helping to improve mood and reduce anxiety by increasing the availability of neurotransmitters in the brain. Its use can be beneficial in patients with symptoms of depression and anxiety, providing a therapeutic effect that contributes to the improvement of quality of life.
Composition
Each Efexor XR capsule contains 75 mg of venlafaxine as venlafaxine hydrochloride, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to venlafaxine or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have stopped taking an MAOI within the last 14 days. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe heart disease and in those with a history of hypertensive crises.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hypertension, seizure disorders, liver or kidney disease, as well as in those who present symptoms of mania. It is important to monitor blood pressure regularly during treatment. In case of symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as confusion, agitation, fever, sweating, or muscle spasms, treatment should be discontinued immediately.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
