Indications
Edarbi is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. High blood pressure is a medical condition that can increase the risk of heart disease, strokes, and kidney problems. The use of Edarbi helps to lower blood pressure, which contributes to reducing these risks. This medication can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a single drug.
Composition
Each tablet contains 40 mg of Azilsartan Medoxomil as the active ingredient. Additionally, it may contain excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other inactive compounds that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Edarbi is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Azilsartan Medoxomil or to any of the excipients of the medication. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without medical supervision. It is also contraindicated in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or with a history of angioedema associated with treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency, or those receiving diuretics. It is advisable to monitor kidney function and blood potassium levels during treatment. In case of surgical procedures, the doctor should be informed about the use of Edarbi.
Storage
The medication should be stored in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, out of the reach of children. Avoid exposure to direct light and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
