Indications
Duspatalin (Mebeverine) is indicated for the treatment of functional bowel disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other disorders that present with abdominal pain, intestinal spasms, and altered bowel transit. This medication acts specifically on the musculature of the gastrointestinal tract, helping to relieve pain and discomfort associated with abnormal intestinal contractions. It is also used in cases of functional dyspepsia and in patients who present with symptoms of intestinal hypermotility.
Composition
Each Duspatalin capsule contains 200 mg of mebeverine as the active ingredient. Excipients include gelatin, titanium dioxide, among others, which are used for capsule formulation.
Contraindications
Duspatalin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mebeverine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in cases of intestinal obstruction and in patients with severe liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with severe heart diseases.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of allergic reactions to medications, as well as in those taking other medications that may interact with mebeverine. It is important to evaluate its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in patients over 65 years of age. Medical follow-up is suggested if symptoms persist or worsen during treatment.
Storage
Store Duspatalin at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
