Indications
Dupixent is indicated for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis who require systemic therapy. It is also used in the treatment of moderate to severe asthma in adult and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older who experience disease exacerbation despite receiving inhaled corticosteroid treatment. Additionally, it is indicated for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps in adults.
Composition
Each pre-filled syringe contains 300 mg of dupilumab in 2 ml of injectable solution. Excipients are: sodium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, and water for injection.
Contraindications
Dupixent is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dupilumab or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with uncontrolled chronic infections.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions, as well as in those with autoimmune diseases. Patients should be monitored for the possible occurrence of infections, as Dupixent may increase the risk of viral, bacterial, and fungal infections.
Storage
Store refrigerated between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Pre-filled syringes can be kept at room temperature (up to 30 °C) for up to 14 days before use. Protect from light.
