Indications

Duoalmetec is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adult patients. This medication combines two antihypertensive agents: Olmesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. The combination of these two active ingredients allows for more effective blood pressure control, improving the cardiovascular prognosis in hypertensive patients. It is recommended to administer this medication as part of a comprehensive approach that includes lifestyle changes and an adequate evaluation of cardiovascular risk factors.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Olmesartan medoxomil 40 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg, as well as excipients q.s.p. to complete the tablet.

Contraindications

Duoalmetec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in those with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors. It should not be used in patients with severe liver failure or in those with arterial hypotension.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Duoalmetec in patients with a history of heart failure, kidney disease, or in those who are being treated with diuretics. It is important to monitor blood pressure and kidney function during treatment. It is also recommended to evaluate the possibility of interactions with other medications the patient is taking.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
