Indications
Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion, as well as for the treatment of motion sickness symptoms. This medication is effective in managing discomfort that arises during travel by car, plane, or boat. Additionally, it can be used to manage postoperative symptoms related to nausea and vomiting. Its use is recommended for patients experiencing dizziness or nausea due to specific situations, such as travel, or in certain medical conditions that predispose them to these symptoms.
Composition
Each Dramamine tablet contains 50 mg of Dimenhydrinate. Additionally, it includes excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Dramamine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dimenhydrinate or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, and those with obstructive respiratory tract diseases. Its use is not recommended in children under 2 years of age.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and those who are undergoing treatment with other medications that cause sedation or central nervous system depression. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption while using this medication. Likewise, special care should be taken when operating machinery or driving vehicles, as it may cause drowsiness.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
