Indications
Doxopeg is indicated in the treatment of adult patients with malignant neoplasms, specifically non-Hodgkin lymphomas, leukemias, solid tumors, and in the management of certain types of metastatic breast cancer. Liposomal doxorubicin acts by interfering with the DNA of cancer cells, inhibiting their multiplication and promoting apoptosis or programmed cell death. In addition, its liposomal formulation allows for better distribution in the body, reducing toxicity to healthy tissues and improving the adverse effect profile.
Composition
Each 1 ml of Doxopeg contains 2 mg of liposomal doxorubicin. Excipients: sodium chloride, phosphoric acid, water for injection, among others.
Contraindications
Doxopeg is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to doxorubicin or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe infections, severe hepatic dysfunction, and in those who have received prior treatment with anthracyclines and have experienced significant toxicity.
Precautions
Doxopeg administration is recommended under the supervision of a specialized physician. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of heart disease, as well as in those with compromised hepatic and/or renal function. Continuous monitoring of vital signs and hematological function is important during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature of 15 to 30 °C. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
