Indications
Dostinex is indicated for the treatment of hyperprolactinemia, which may manifest as amenorrhea, galactorrhea, and/or infertility in women, as well as in the treatment of symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. This medication acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, helping to reduce prolactin levels in the blood and improve symptoms related to Parkinson's disease.
Composition
Each Dostinex tablet contains 0.5 mg of cabergoline as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption in the body. Excipients may include lactose, starch, and other components that do not affect the activity of the medication.
Contraindications
Dostinex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cabergoline or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe cardiovascular diseases, such as congestive heart failure, and in those receiving treatment with other dopamine agonists.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, as it may exacerbate symptoms in some cases. Additionally, patients with heart conditions should be monitored, as there may be a risk of cardiovascular adverse effects. It is important to inform your doctor about any medications you are taking to avoid drug interactions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
