Indications
Doscoxel is indicated for the treatment of various painful and inflammatory conditions. It is primarily used in the management of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. This medication works by selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which reduces the production of prostaglandins, responsible for causing pain and inflammation. It can also be used in the treatment of acute pain, such as dental pain, postoperative pain, and primary dysmenorrhea. It is important to follow specific medical instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment.
Composition
Each Doscoxel tablet contains 90 mg of etoricoxib as the active ingredient. Additionally, it may contain inactive excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Doscoxel is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other NSAIDs. Its use is contraindicated in patients with severe heart failure, active liver disease, and in those with peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, renal or hepatic insufficiency. Medical monitoring is important in the case of prolonged treatments. The risk-benefit ratio should be assessed before initiating treatment in special populations, such as the elderly or patients with comorbidities. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
