Indications
Dolac (ketorolac) is indicated for the treatment of acute and severe pain, as well as for reducing inflammation. It is commonly used for managing postoperative pain, dental pain, musculoskeletal pain, or in conditions requiring rapid pain relief. It can also be used in patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, where effective pain and inflammation control is required. This medication acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are compounds responsible for causing inflammation and pain in the body.
Composition
Each tablet contains 30 mg of ketorolac as the active ingredient. Excipients include: corn starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, and talc.
Contraindications
Dolac is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ketorolac or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal failure, or those who have received anticoagulants. It is also contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women, unless considered absolutely necessary.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, liver or kidney disease. It is important to monitor renal function in patients receiving prolonged treatment. Furthermore, it is recommended to avoid combination with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants due to an increased risk of adverse effects.
