Indications

Dobutamine is indicated in the treatment of congestive heart failure and in situations of low cardiac output. It is frequently used in the management of patients with cardiogenic shock or in conditions where an increase in myocardial contractility is required. Its action focuses on improving blood flow and cardiac function, facilitating the management of critically ill patients or in situations of cardiovascular stress. In addition, it is used in the treatment of hypotension during surgical procedures or in the context of acute heart diseases, where hemodynamic support is essential for patient stability.

Composition

Each vial contains 250 mg of dobutamine in 5 ml of injectable solution.

Contraindications

Dobutamine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dobutamine or any component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with obstructive cardiomyopathy, tachyarrhythmias, and in those with a history of recent myocardial infarction without adequate hemodynamic recovery.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering dobutamine to patients with hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, or those with ischemic heart disease. Continuous monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is recommended during its use. Administration should be performed by trained medical personnel and in a controlled environment, given the potential for adverse effects in patients with pre-existing heart conditions.

Storage

Dobutamine should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and in its original container. Keep out of reach of children.
