Indications
Dipeptiven is indicated for the parenteral nutrition of patients requiring nutritional support, especially in conditions of high metabolic stress, such as in cases of major surgery, trauma, or severe infections. This product is useful for patients who cannot obtain adequate nutrient intake through oral or enteral routes. Its formulation with alanine and levoglutamine provides essential amino acids that are fundamental for protein synthesis and the maintenance of immune function. In addition, Dipeptiven can be used in patients with chronic diseases where nutrient absorption is compromised.
Composition
Each 100 mL of Dipeptiven contains:
- Alanine: XX g
- Levoglutamide: XX g
- Other excipients: according to specific formulation.
Contraindications
The use of Dipeptiven is not recommended in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components. It is also contraindicated in cases of uncontrolled severe renal failure, a situation in which the elimination of waste products is inadequate. Its use should be carefully evaluated in patients with acid-base balance disorders.
Precautions
Monitoring of electrolyte levels, glucose, and renal function parameters is recommended in patients receiving Dipeptiven. It is important to consider the use of this medication with caution in patients with a history of liver disease or in those who are receiving other intravenous treatments that may influence their metabolic status.
