Indications
Dimodan is indicated for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, specifically in cases of ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation. Its action is directed at stabilizing the myocardial cell membrane, which is effective in reducing the excitability and electrical conductivity of the heart. This medication can be used in patients with a history of arrhythmias, as well as in those who present symptoms related to these conditions, such as palpitations, dizziness, or syncope. It is important that its use be supervised by a physician, who will determine the need for additional studies to evaluate the patient's cardiac function before initiating treatment.
Composition
Each capsule contains disopyramide in a concentration of 100 mg, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Dimodan is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to disopyramide or to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with second- and third-degree heart block, sick sinus syndrome, and in those with decompensated heart failure. Its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women should be carefully evaluated by the treating physician.
Precautions
Regular medical follow-up is essential during treatment with Dimodan, especially in patients with a history of heart disease, hypertension, or kidney problems. Special care should be taken when administering other medications simultaneously that may interfere with the action of disopyramide, as well as in monitoring for possible adverse effects. Patients should be informed about the possibility of experiencing dizziness or drowsiness.
