Indications
Dimefor XR is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. This medication is used as part of a comprehensive therapeutic approach that includes diet and exercise, with the aim of improving glycemic control in patients who have not achieved adequate blood glucose levels through lifestyle changes alone. It can also be used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or with insulin in patients who require additional glucose control. Dimefor XR may be beneficial for overweight and obese patients, as this medication has been observed to help reduce body weight in some cases.
Composition
Each Dimefor XR tablet contains 1000 mg of metformin as hydrochloride.
Contraindications
It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the product's excipients. It is contraindicated in patients with renal failure, severe liver disease, metabolic acidosis, and conditions that may cause tissue hypoxia, as well as in pregnant or breastfeeding women without medical supervision.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Dimefor XR with caution in patients with a history of kidney disease, heart disease, or those at high risk of developing lactic acidosis. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and renal function during treatment is important. The use of this medication is not recommended in situations of dehydration or severe infection.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
