Indications
Dimefor-G is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially in overweight patients. This medication is used in combination with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients whose diabetes is not adequately controlled with metformin or glibenclamide alone. Metformin helps to decrease glucose production in the liver and improves glucose utilization by tissues, while glibenclamide stimulates insulin secretion by the pancreas, contributing to the regulation of blood glucose levels.
Composition
Each Dimefor-G tablet contains: 500 mg of metformin and 2.5 mg of glibenclamide. Excipients: Lactose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Dimefor-G is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the product's components, in those with severe renal or hepatic disease, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women. It should not be administered in cases of severe infections or conditions that may lead to dehydration.
Precautions
Special care should be taken when administering Dimefor-G to patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, mild to moderate renal insufficiency, or elderly patients. It is important to monitor blood glucose levels and renal function during treatment. It is also recommended to avoid alcohol consumption, as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
