Indications
Dilacoran is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and for the control of angina pectoris. It is also used as adjunctive therapy in paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, as well as in the prevention of atrial fibrillation episodes. Verapamil's action is based on its ability to reduce heart rate and myocardial contractility, resulting in a decrease in the heart's oxygen demand.
Composition
Each Dilacoran tablet contains 80 mg of verapamil as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to verapamil or any of the excipients, in cases of second- or third-degree AV block without a pacemaker, severe heart failure, and in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hypotension.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of bradycardia or cardiac conduction problems. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is recommended during treatment. Concomitant use with other antihypertensives may enhance its effect, so the dose should be adjusted as needed.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
