Indications
Detrusitol (Tolterodine) is indicated for the treatment of urgency urinary incontinence and overactive bladder in adults. This medication acts as an antimuscarinic, inhibiting the activity of the bladder muscles, which helps reduce episodes of incontinence and increase urine storage capacity. It is particularly useful in patients experiencing symptoms of urinary urgency, increased urinary frequency, and those who experience uncontrolled incontinence episodes.
Composition
Each Detrusitol tablet contains 4 mg of Tolterodine tartrate as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation of the product and its oral administration.
Contraindications
Detrusitol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tolterodine or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in cases of urinary retention, myasthenia gravis, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, and in patients with severe liver disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal obstruction, heart disease, or those taking other anticholinergic medications. Regular medical follow-up is recommended during treatment, especially in the elderly, who may be more susceptible to side effects.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
