Indications

Detrusitol (Tolterodine) is indicated for the treatment of bladder overactivity in adults. This medication acts as an antimuscarinic, helping to reduce urinary frequency and urgency, as well as urge urinary incontinence. It is especially useful in patients experiencing symptoms of overactive bladder, thus improving quality of life and bladder control.

Composition

Each Detrusitol tablet contains 2 mg of Tolterodine, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Detrusitol is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Tolterodine or any of the formulation components. It is also contraindicated in patients with urinary retention, narrow-angle glaucoma, and myasthenia gravis. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of gastrointestinal problems, urinary retention, or heart disease. Likewise, special care should be taken in patients over 75 years of age, as they may be more susceptible to the adverse effects of the medication. It is vital to monitor renal and hepatic function before and during treatment.
