Indications
Desowen cream is indicated for the treatment of various dermatological conditions that respond to corticosteroids. It is used to relieve symptoms such as inflammation, redness, and itching of the skin. It is effective in the management of atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin diseases. Its use should be supervised by a doctor, who will determine the duration and frequency of treatment according to the patient's response.
Composition
Each 100 grams of cream contains 0.05 g of desonide as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Desowen cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to desonide or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be applied to infected skin lesions or areas with cutaneous tuberculosis. Its use in children under 12 years of age should be carefully evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in cases of skin infections, as corticosteroids can mask the signs of infection. It is important to avoid prolonged use to prevent skin atrophy and other adverse effects. Application to extensive areas or occlusive use should be avoided unless otherwise indicated by a healthcare professional.
