Indications
Deltamid Ofteno is a medication indicated for the treatment of various eye conditions, such as bacterial infections of the ocular surface and inflammatory processes that require the combined action of an antibiotic and a corticosteroid. Sulfacetamide exhibits antibacterial activity, while prednisolone acts as an anti-inflammatory, allowing for a reduction in inflammation and the prevention of complications secondary to infection. Its use is recommended in cases of bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, and other conditions that would benefit from the combined action of both components.
Composition
Each milliliter of Deltamid Ofteno contains: 100 mg of sodium sulfacetamide and 5 mg of prednisolone.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with viral or fungal eye infections. Its use is not recommended in patients with glaucoma or those with a corneal perforation.
Precautions
It is important to use Deltamid Ofteno under medical supervision, as prolonged use can increase the risk of side effects. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of recurrent eye infections and in those undergoing treatment with other corticosteroids. It is recommended not to wear contact lenses during treatment and to avoid contamination of the applicator.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
