Indications
Darzalex (Daratumumab) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with multiple myeloma, specifically in those who have received at least one prior therapy, as well as in combination with other therapeutic agents in patients who have not received prior treatment. This medication acts as a monoclonal antibody that targets myeloma cells by binding to the CD38 protein, leading to the destruction of malignant cells. Additionally, it can be used in patients with relapsed or refractory disease, improving clinical response and prolonging survival at various stages of the disease.
Composition
Each vial contains Daratumumab as the active ingredient at a concentration of 400 mg/20 ml, in addition to excipients such as sodium chloride, acetic acid, and water for injection.
Contraindications
Darzalex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the product's excipients. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.
Precautions
Patients should be monitored during the initial infusion of Darzalex, as infusion-related reactions may occur. In addition, caution should be exercised in patients with active infections or a history of recurrent infections, as the use of Darzalex may increase the risk of infections. It is important to regularly monitor blood cell counts and assess renal function before initiating treatment.
Storage
Store refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep the vial in its original packaging to protect it from light.
