Indications
Dalacin T Gel 1% is an antibacterial indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is primarily used in the treatment of acne vulgaris, a common dermatological condition characterized by the presence of comedones, papules, pustules, and inflammatory lesions on the skin. Clindamycin, the active ingredient in the gel, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which results in a decrease in bacterial proliferation on the skin. This medication is especially effective against Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria associated with acne.
Composition
Each 100 g of Dalacin T Gel contains 1 g of clindamycin (as clindamycin hydrochloride) and excipients such as cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and other components that facilitate the gel's formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any of the excipients in the formula. Caution should also be exercised in those with a history of colitis or severe gastrointestinal diseases.
Precautions
Avoid contact of the gel with eyes, mucous membranes, and open wounds. In case of diarrhea or colitis during treatment, discontinue use of the medication and consult a doctor. Its use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age without a doctor's supervision.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
