Indications
Dalacin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to clindamycin. It is primarily used for skin and soft tissue infections, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, and abdominal infections. It is also effective in the treatment of bone and joint infections. This antibiotic is particularly useful in cases where patients have penicillin allergies or when bacteria are resistant to other antibiotics.
Composition
Each Dalacin capsule contains 300 mg of clindamycin (as clindamycin hydrochloride) as the active ingredient. Excipients are: starch, magnesium stearate, and talc.
Contraindications
Dalacin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clindamycin or to any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of pseudomembranous colitis associated with antibiotic use.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of colitis, as the use of clindamycin may increase the risk of developing pseudomembranous colitis. Medical monitoring is recommended for patients who experience diarrhea during treatment. This medication should be used with caution in individuals with severe liver or kidney disorders.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
