Indications
Dalacin (Clindamycin) is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, mainly those caused by anaerobic bacteria and some Gram-positive aerobic bacteria. This medication is useful in the management of skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections, respiratory tract infections, and in the treatment of intra-abdominal infections. It can also be used in cases of osteomyelitis and for the prophylaxis of infections in patients with specific medical conditions that predispose them to infections. Clindamycin is especially effective in patients allergic to penicillin.
Composition
Each ampule of Dalacin contains Clindamycin at a concentration of 300 mg, in addition to excipients that facilitate its administration and efficacy.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any of the components of the formula. Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis, as it may worsen these conditions.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. It is important to monitor patients during treatment for signs of pseudomembranous colitis. In case of severe or persistent diarrhea, treatment should be discontinued and medical attention sought. Prolonged use of this medication without medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Dalacin should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
