Indications
Daktarin Gel 2% is indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by fungi and yeasts. It is effective in the management of superficial mycoses, such as ringworm (tinea corporis, tinea pedis), cutaneous candidiasis, and seborrheic dermatitis. It is also recommended for the treatment of fungal infections in intertriginous areas and in skin affected by moisture. Daktarin Gel 2% acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, which in turn causes fungal cell death. In addition, its gel formulation allows for easy application and better adherence to the skin, ensuring that the medication remains at the infection site for longer.
Composition
Each 100 g of Daktarin Gel contains 2 g of Miconazole as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the gel formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Miconazole or to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended for deep skin lesions or systemic infections. Do not apply to mucous membranes or areas of skin with open wounds without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Daktarin Gel in patients with medical conditions that may compromise liver or kidney function. It is recommended to avoid direct contact with eyes and mucous membranes, and not to use the product on extensive areas of the skin or for prolonged periods without medical supervision. In case of irritation or adverse reaction, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
