Indications
Dabex 850 mg is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, in combination with diet and exercise. This medication is used to improve glycemic control in patients who do not achieve optimal blood glucose levels with lifestyle changes alone. Dabex can be administered alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin. Furthermore, its use has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in diabetic patients.
Composition
Each Dabex tablet contains 850 mg of metformin as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metformin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe renal insufficiency, diabetic ketoacidosis, or in situations of acute hypoxia, among other conditions that may increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with conditions that may increase the risk of dehydration. It is important to regularly monitor renal function and glycemic control during treatment with Dabex.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
