Indications
Cuyulid is indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and in men at risk of bone fractures. It is also used in patients with Paget's osteopathy and in those receiving long-term corticosteroid therapy, to reduce the risk of fractures. Alendronic acid works by inhibiting bone resorption, while cholecalciferol helps maintain adequate vitamin D levels, essential for bone health.
Composition
Each Cuyulid tablet contains 70 mg of alendronic acid and 5600 IU of cholecalciferol.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with untreated hypocalcemia, as well as in patients with esophageal disorders that delay esophageal transit. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastric or esophageal ulcers, as well as in those with kidney problems. Regular medical monitoring and evaluation of kidney function before and during treatment with Cuyulid are important. It is also advisable to ensure adequate calcium and vitamin D intake during treatment.
Storage
Store the medication in its original container, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
