Indications
Cutaclin 1% Gel is indicated for the treatment of bacterial skin infections, including acne vulgaris. Its antibacterial action is effective against gram-positive microorganisms, making it useful for the control of inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions. This medication works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which results in the cessation of growth and reproduction of the bacteria responsible for skin infections. It is recommended to apply the gel to the affected skin once or twice a day, according to the treating physician's instructions.
Composition
Each 1 g of Cutaclin Gel contains 10 mg of clindamycin (as clindamycin hydrochloride). It also includes excipients such as sodium carboxymethylcellulose, methylparaben, and propylene glycol.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis, as it may worsen this condition.
Precautions
It is important to undergo a medical evaluation before starting treatment with Cutaclin Gel. Avoid contact of the gel with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. In case of severe irritation, it is recommended to discontinue use and consult a doctor. This medication should not be used on extensive areas of the skin or on open wounds.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 ºC. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light.
