Indications
Cronadyn (Paroxetine) is indicated in the treatment of major depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorders. It can also be used for the treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorders. Paroxetine acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), which helps balance serotonin levels in the brain, contributing to improved mood and reduced anxiety.
Composition
Each Cronadyn tablet contains 20 mg of paroxetine. Additionally, it contains excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and other inactive ingredients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
The use of Cronadyn is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paroxetine or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those with a history of serotonin syndrome. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless strictly necessary and under appropriate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of bipolar disorders, epilepsy or seizures, and in those with a history of drug or alcohol abuse. It is important to monitor patients for suicidal symptoms, especially at the beginning of treatment or when adjusting doses. Additionally, the risk of serotonin syndrome should be considered, especially if combined with other medications that affect serotonin.
