Indications
Crestor is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia in adults. This medication is used as an adjunct to an appropriate diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, as well as to increase HDL cholesterol in patients at risk of cardiovascular disease. It is also indicated for the prevention of cardiovascular events in individuals with risk factors.
Composition
Each Crestor tablet contains 20 mg of rosuvastatin as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and presentation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with active liver disease or persistent elevations in transaminases. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or muscle diseases, as well as in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to monitor transaminase levels and kidney function. It is recommended to evaluate the patient's clinical situation, especially in those who are taking other medications that may interact with rosuvastatin.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
