Indications

Crestor (Rosuvastatin) is indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia. It is used in patients requiring reduction of LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as in those with elevated total cholesterol levels. This medication is also indicated for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or a family history of premature coronary artery disease. Its use should be accompanied by an appropriate diet and control of other cardiovascular risk factors.

Composition

Each Crestor tablet contains 10 mg of Rosuvastatin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that aid in the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Crestor is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with active liver disease, including persistent elevations in transaminases, and in those with active myopathy. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, renal insufficiency, or in those who consume excessive alcohol. Additionally, it is recommended to evaluate muscle function in patients who experience symptoms of muscle weakness or pain. The combination of Crestor with other medications that affect rosuvastatin metabolism should be monitored to avoid interactions that may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Storage

The medication should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
