Creon 150 mg is indicated for the treatment of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, and after surgical resection of the pancreas. This medication helps improve the digestion of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, facilitating the absorption of essential nutrients in the body. It is crucial in replacement therapy for patients lacking sufficient pancreatic enzyme production, thus contributing to an improved quality of life.
Composition
Each capsule of Creon 150 mg contains pancreatin, which includes lipase, amylase, and protease, in a formulation designed to release the enzymes in the small intestine, where they are necessary for proper food digestion.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pancreatin or any of the components of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with conditions that may worsen pancreatic insufficiency.
