Indications

Corpotasin Gk is indicated for the treatment and prevention of hypokalemia, a condition characterized by low potassium levels in the blood. It is particularly useful in situations requiring the correction of electrolyte imbalances, such as in patients receiving diuretics, in those with significant vomiting or diarrhea, and in cases of dehydration. It can also be used in the management of conditions such as metabolic acidosis, where potassium replacement is required. This medication is essential for maintaining electrolyte balance and proper muscle function, as well as for normal nerve transmission.

Composition

Each sachet of Corpotasin Gk contains 20 mEq of potassium gluconate as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

Corpotasin Gk is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels in the blood), severe renal insufficiency, or in those with a known allergy to any of the components of the formulation. Likewise, its use is not recommended in combination with medications that can raise potassium levels, such as certain angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or potassium-sparing diuretics.

Precautions

Regular monitoring of blood potassium levels is important during treatment with Corpotasin Gk, especially in patients with underlying conditions that may affect kidney function or electrolyte balance.
