Indications
Corpotasin Cl is a medication indicated for the prevention and treatment of electrolyte imbalances in patients with conditions requiring potassium and bicarbonate supplementation. It is useful in situations of metabolic acidosis, as well as in the correction of hypokalemia, which may occur in patients receiving diuretic treatments or suffering from kidney diseases. It can also be used in the management of cardiac function in patients with congestive heart failure and for the improvement of acid-base status in patients with metabolic alterations.
Composition
Each effervescent tablet contains: Potassium Bicarbonate 500 mg, Potassium Chloride 300 mg, Lysine 100 mg.
Contraindications
Corpotasin Cl is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia, severe renal insufficiency, dehydration, and in those with known allergy to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with Addison's disease or to those who are undergoing treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) without adequate supervision from a healthcare professional.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, or those who are taking other medications that may affect potassium levels. Regular monitoring of blood potassium levels is essential during treatment. In case of symptoms such as muscle weakness, irregular heartbeats, or confusion, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
