Indications
Coplavix is indicated for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome, as well as in those with a history of myocardial infarction, stroke, or peripheral arterial disease. This medication is used in combination with other therapies to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular complications.
Additionally, its use is recommended in patients who have undergone revascularization procedures, such as angioplasty, where the prevention of thrombosis is crucial. The combination of clopidogrel and acetylsalicylic acid acts synergistically, providing effective cardiovascular protection.
Composition
Each Coplavix tablet contains 75 mg of clopidogrel and 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as active ingredients. It also contains excipients such as starch, cellulose, and other inactive compounds necessary for the medication's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in those with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, active peptic ulcer, or severe bleeding disorders. It should not be administered in combination with certain anticoagulants or in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of bleeding, such as peptic ulcers or cerebral hemorrhages. Likewise, the risk of bleeding should be assessed in patients taking other medications that affect coagulation. Careful clinical monitoring is recommended in patients over 75 years of age or those with medical conditions that may increase the risk of complications.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
